Your role will be to support the contracts in the South West region with some additional travel to London, East and South East regions for the first 6 months.
Salary £45,000 - £50,000 negotiable based on experience

Were looking for a Contract Manager to come and join our Contracts team who are part of Home Groups wider Maintenance function. You will manage multiple suppliers, each with separate bespoke contracts. This means that youre pretty sharp at not just knowing the detail of those contract but manging a partners performance and outcomes. You have a clear vision and understanding of what €œgood€ looks like, in terms of service delivery from a contractor.  Day to day, youll oversee (at arms length) contractor performance, KPIs, and the delivery of services to our customers.
Youll work in partnership with our maintenance teams, so that they also work within the agreed contact parameters. Our colleagues can go rogue at times, so we need you to challenge them (diplomatically) when they do!
Youre confident working with underperforming contractors, to ensure their performance improves, knowing how and when to take action to if it doesnt!
Uniquely, youll also get the chance to progress your Project Management skills here at Home Group. You will ultimately lead, but initially support, some of our national businesses impacting projects.
 
The team
Youll work alongside our Lead Contract Manager Simon, whos just celebrated his first anniversary at Home Group! Like you he understands what its like to join a new team, but isnt new to contract management! Outside of work, Simon is trying to figure out how to persuade his adult daughters to flee the nest!
 
The patch, travel and hours
As a team we cover a huge patch which runs from Reading and Oxford all the way down to the South west corner to Cornwall. While its a big patch, you wont be out on the road every day! Youll likely spend around 3 days a fortnight travelling. Additionally, we also expect you to work from our Havant office at least 2 days a week (well leave the when, up to you!). The great news is that youll have the chance to shape your own diary and work flexibly including having the ability to spend some time working from home.
 
About you
You have proven experience in a commercially challenging maintenance environment, ideally gained €œclient side€ and if youve worked in the housing sector that would be totally awesome!
You have extensive commercial negotiation and a contract management skills. It would be awesome if you had the technical know-how such as knowledge of construction, maintenance and housing, issues, however its not a deal breaker if you dont.
What we do need to you have is a good solid awareness of Health and safety as well as fire awareness matters.
The cherry on the cake would be if you hold Chartered Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIOB, RICS or equivalent, but again your contract management skills are what is key to us!
