Job Description

We are looking to employ two enthusiastic and dynamic Consultants in Public Health to join the Nottingham City Council Public Health team. One post is permanent, the other is fixed term to March 2018 with possible extension. Nottingham City is a vibrant, multi-cultural city and has a long and proud history. These appointments will support the DPH, the Council and partners to achieve these ambitions for the City. These appointments will support the Director of Public Health (DPH) in delivering public health priorities across Nottingham City with a diverse range of partners in the local authority, NHS and other statutory and voluntary organisations, including the Health and Wellbeing Board. You will be a key part of a team of three Public Health Consultants and a Director of Public Health with support from Public Health Insight Managers and Analysts. You will be intellectually and practically flexible and able to cope with multiple and changing demands. You will use negotiation, motivation skills and public health leadership skills to deal with complex public health issues, advising and making recommendations regarding services and patient care. You will appreciate the importance of understanding Nottinghams diverse cultures to advocate and enable effective working across organisational boundaries influencing without direct authority where necessary. You will be confident in leading on complex public health issues, advising the local authority, Clinical Commissioning Group and the Health and Wellbeing Board making recommendations regarding services, patient care and wider determinants of health. .
